Groupon Pop Up Shop – The Video
So – we recently ran a series on London pop-ups. Restaurants, shops, art and design and one-off WOWS were covered. You liked it. We liked it. But it wasn’t enough for some.
‘It’s all very well writing about pop-ups,’ cried one Groupon groupy, ‘But could you actually manage your own?’
We know a challenge when we see one. So, we stepped up to the mark, and did just that!
A very many thanks to all who came down and said hello to the Groupon pop-up shop team as we sold our Betty Blythe wares at The Old Truman Brewery’s Sunday Upmarket on November 28th. It may have been colder than the inside of an ice-pop, but hordes of Groupon friends old and new came along for cupcakin’ good fun. What a pleasure it was to meet you all!
We snapped some shots of those we enticed with our mockney market tricks (‘Fihve pahnd a box, cupcakes fihve pahnd a box!”) and made a little video about the day, too. Have a look and see if you made the final cut!
Thanks also to the effortlessly elegant Betty Blythe for her delightful baked treats – proof that pretty and delicious DO co-exist in cakeland – and to the fine folks at The Truman Brewery for hosting. Trying our hand at good old-fashioned trading made us all feel very ‘The Apprentice’ – which we loved, obvs. (Our very own Alan Sugar, Groupon UK master-in-command Chris Muhr, was even spotted rearranging the display to make sure it looked as tempting as possible…)
Long pop the pop-up, say we.
