Champagne Competition With Heffalump.com – The Winner!

If there’s one thing we know about you, Groupon friends and fans, it’s that you love a chuckle. Always ready with a snappy quip, yours is a collective sense of humour honed to new heights of hilarity. Seriously, you like, WELL make us smile.

But nothing could have prepared us for the wave of wit that came pouring our way when we asked for your best Christmas card greetings, in return for a shot at snatching six bottles of champagne courtesy of Hephalump.com, our bespoke card-creating friends. How we lol-ed, nay, ROFL-ed as gag after gag had us in stitches. What a tremendously fun way to decide a prize!

We could have just announced who came out on top, but it would have been a crime against comedy to keep the mirth to ourselves. So sit back, gear up your giggles and enjoy the top 5 entries!

At No. 5, it’s Adrian Austin, with the cracker-worthy classic:

Two snowmen; one says to the other – ‘Can you smell carrots?’

At No. 4, we’ve got a more surreal sample from David Owen:

It was Christmas Eve in at the meat counter and a woman was anxiously picking over the last few remaining turkeys in the hope of finding a large one.
In desperation she called over a shop assistant and said, ‘Excuse me. Do these turkeys get any bigger?’
‘No, madam, ‘he replied, ‘they’re all dead.’

At No. 3, we’ve got Raj Awasti, proving the old ones really are the best, with:

Happy Basil! Merry Pepper! Seasons Greetings’

At No.2, Matthew Deaves flashes some satirical funny which we particularly enjoyed:

Credit crunch card: ‘HAVE A GREAT MERRY CHRISTMAS, EASTER, NEW BABY, NEW HOME, BIRTHDAY AND I HOPE YOU GET WELL SOON . LOTS OF LOVE AT THIS SAD TIME.’

And finally – drum roll please – storming into first place is our WINNER Michelle Harper! Congratulations to Michelle, whose re-working of ‘The 12 Days of Christmas’ below showed such effort we couldn’t possibly let her go unrewarded. Michelle, drop us a line on blog@groupon.co.uk, and we can get that champagne en route to you.

For now, enjoy Michelle’s victorious ditty!
