New Year’s Resolution 3: Eating Towards a Healthier Life!
There is nothing like a new year, make that a new decade, to remind you that there is still time to be the person you want to be. I’ve decided, again, to come up with a few resolutions. Perhaps by sharing with you, I’ll be more likely to stick to them – I also signed up for Daytum, this nerdy site that you collect and categorise data on yourself which you can then track. Yes, I will be literally charting my progress.
So, here are my resolutions—and in the meantime, any tips would be GREATLY appreciated.
- Stop biting/picking my nails. I know—this is probably one of the most popular and least attractive habits out there, but I admit that I’m very much guilty of it!
- Spend a little extra time every morning on my appearance. Moisturise, skincare and makeup! Even a little bit goes a long way.
- Exercise and eat towards a healthier life
As for this last one, the past 4 rainy London days have not inspired me to throw on my trainers and go for a run. Instead, I took the last few days to focus on the eating (healthy!) aspect — no reason your resolutions can’t be in line with something you love. So, while I ask your advice on how to stick to all of my new goals, I thought I would share some healthy recipe blogs I’ve begun to follow. And if you love these, don’t forget to check out my other post.
We could all use a little inspiration!
Cheap Healthy Good
The name of the blog says it all—each recipe is written to advance “frugal, nutritious, and ethically minded food”. The recipes are, for the most part, simple and use whole food ingredients that can be bought without you breaking the bank.

Another blog posting simple but healthy recipes that are low in both fat and calories. And, since the author is a photography lover—you get a great look at the finished product (at least what it is supposed to look like) that is enough to make your stomach start growling! I, personally, love one of Gina’s more recent posts entitled Top 10 Lightened Up Brunch Recipes— taking the guilt (not deliciousness) out of crème brûlée french toast and banana nut pancakes.
I couldn’t post my blog without mentioning this site—put together by my best friend’s partner. Together they are learning their way around the kitchen, usually crammed for time and often, ingredients. They share their simple, delicious, and for the most part—healthy recipes with step-by-step instructions that make you feel like you’re in the kitchen with them.
Is healthy eating one of your resolutions? Where do you look for inspiration?
