Flowerpotty!
Summer is most definitely on its way and I wanted to brighten up our garden in preparation for lots of BBQs and sunbathing. So, I decided to upcycle some old drawers into unique flower pots.
I used old Ikea drawers that I had painted years ago but, if you can’t find any in your house, then go for a wander – the streets are littered with old furniture that people are throwing out. Grab it before the bin men do!
To turn your old drawers into flower pots all you need is:
- Flowers (I used Viola’s)
- Drawers
- Plastic Bag
- Soil
Firstly, line your draw with a plastic bag (this will protect the wood and make the draw last longer as a flower pot!) – cut the bag so that it is flush with the draw.

Gently pull two plants out of the main tray and place in the draw – spacing evenly.

Then carefully fill around the plants with soil and give the plants a bit of water. Repeat this process if you have more drawers!

And you’re finished – you now have yourself some truly unique (and upcycled) flowerpots!

You can also use ur childrens easter bucket and also small watering cans, just paint them brightly and add a few stickers and plant your flowers and your garden will be summer itself, but please wait untill after Easter before using the buckets.xx.
Brilliant idea. As I have some disabilities it can be difficult to do normal gardening. Got to find me some drawers, then i could plant them up and someone else could put them in place. A big big Thank you xx
I plant nastertiums in an old loo in my back garden. Looks lovely when they flower and last months.
