London’s Spring Menus

Big news. I’ve finally given in and gotten myself a tastecard. It’s unbelievable how many more friends fancy you as a dinner partner if you can promise them 50% off your entire meal. Armed with my smart phone, I’ve been running around the city with my head down pushing the “near you” button to find the closest and best-reviewed dinner spots. That being said, I’ve begun to feel a bit stifled by the selection – yet don’t want to sacrifice on price.

Then, this week, I discovered : London’s Spring Menu. Who knew? I thought it was only a Christmas-time thing.

London Street Brasserie (£34)

If you fancy yourself a day trip to Reading, the London Street Brasserie has just launched their 3 course Spring Menu. With starters and main courses included – it might just be worth the Sunday day trip. The restaurant, also, includes a bit of history, originally built as toll house into Reading in the early 1700s and has been touted as one of Reading’s most interesting buildings.

Le Cafe Anglais (£20-25)

Luxurious, yet affordable you can get two to three courses including a slow roast shoulder of lamb and raw faroese salmon with peppercorns. If you want to enjoy the same type of food from the comfort of your own home, visit the restaurant’s website for weekly recipes and subscribe to their newsletter for more deals.

Gautier (£68)

Finally, if you’re looking to really splurge a little on a fine dining Spring feast in London, Michelin Star’s Gautier Spring menu is the answer . The food is created with an emphasis on “intuition and instinct” with the chef wanting to strike a balance between season (spring!), mood, time of day, needs, craving, texture..etc. Sounds deep. And delicious. It seemed blasphemous to even write out the highlights of the menu here. Go Check it out yourself.

Those are just three that I’m going to try….What are your suggestions??
