Yarn Noms! The Yummiest Looking Knitted Foods on the Planet!
Although knitting and crochet are arts that have typically been used to make practical things, like clothing or blankets, there’s really no limit to what you can make. From the ridiculous to the pointless to the totally sublime – this week, I’ve decided to concentrate on the best knitted foods I’ve found. Warning – you may find you need a piece of cake once you’ve read this post!
Admittedly you might not want to eat these – they’re far too cute for that! But wouldn’t they be darling in your fruit bowl?
- Pancakes! (via SkyMagenta)
If you’re a keen do-it-yourself kind of crocheter, perhaps you should consider getting your needle out and making some of these – we’ve got quite a while until pancake day, so you’ve got time to get the pattern right. The only problem with these lovely crocheted pancake toys is stopping yourself from eating them!
- A selection of knitted cupcakes (via The Shopping Sherpa)
The pastel colours are the icing on the cakes…. literally!
It’s not strictly knitting or crochet… but isn’t this felt baby corn cute?
These would look just lovely under tall glasses of watermelon juice…
- Crochet Roast Beef Sandwich with Pickles (via bitteroclock)
OK, I know you’ve got to be hungry now. Check out this crocheted sandwich with all the fixings for your little ones (or yourself!) to enjoy. The sandwich is made up of two thick slices of white bread, one slice of brown meat, one piece of green crinkly lettuce, two white onion slices, and two bright green pickle slices. Mmm!
- Crochet coffee cup (via deba822)

If you’re a serious caffeine addict, you’ll need that coffee all the time – whether it’s liquid, or crochet. This pattern is perfect for all those occasions when you need to nurse a cup, but want to stave off the rush!
- Slice of berry pie tissue box cover (via TwinkieChan)
I do like things that are pretty. When they’re fun to look at and functional, then they really win! Check out this lovely tissue box cover by the amazing Twinkie Chan…
- Grilled cheese sandwich (via seventytwostitches)
Though you wouldn’t think crochet and cheese would mix, I’m actually quite won over by this grilled cheese sandwich…
- Fried egg (via pineapplesauce)
For the egg lovers in the house, this pretty crochet egg doubles as a magnet, to keep all your most important stuff attached to the fridge.
- Amigurumi sushi roll play set (via TheNerdsNest)
Crocheted sushi is, possibly, my favourite type of crocheted food. Perhaps that’s because I love the real stuff so much too….
- Sushi noms earmuffs (via Hustleandsewshop)
This has got to be the biggest sushi roll I’ve ever seen. Pefect for listening to tasty beats!
- Tiny knitted fruit (via BabbidgePatch)
OK, so it’s not really fair to end on a cute note like this – but check out this tiny little tomato headed baby! This little hat is perfect for the heads of newborns. Cute enough to eat!

So cute, this made me smile. Thanks for showing us something different and artistic.
I think so too, Charlotte.
Although, don’t get too lulled in and try to take a bite – yarn balls are ten times as worse as having a hair in your mouth.
