Celebrate Chocolate Week at Cadbury World

This week is Chocolate Week, and where better to head to celebrate that fact than Cadbury World in Bournville (yes, like the chocolate your gran likes), Birmingham.

A chocolate lover’s dream, Cadbury World is a fabulously sweet and sticky interactive day out for all the family. As the majority of the action takes place
indoors, Cadbury World makes a great wet weather day trip, so why not head there this autumn for a bite of its chocolately fun?

While there are lots of chocolate week events and activities planned in the capital, I noticed that there wasn’t much going on for us Midlanders to enjoy. Don’t feel left out because we can head to the home of the UK’s favourite chocolate bar for a tasty treat.

Split into 14 chunky zones, Cadbury World has something for every chocolate lover. You can learn all about the history or chocolate and the Cadbury brand, sneak at peak at what goes on on the factory floor and enjoy playing with chocolate in the demonstration area.

For little chocoholics there’s the cute Cadabra ride, which takes them on a magical journey through a land of all singing, all dancing cocoa beans. There’s also a large outdoor play area for them to get stuck into, to run off their chocolate rush.

Just by the playground, outside the main building, you also have the Bournville Experience, which is a trip down a chocolate memory lane, and the fun Essence of Chocolate attraction, where you can invent and enjoy a brand new chocolate taste sensation. Chocolate and fizzy cola bottles anyone?

Back inside Advertising Avenue brings you face to face with the famous drumming gorilla, while Purple Planet is the perfect place for all the family to have interactive chocolate themed fun. Purple Planet is probably my favourite zone, as you can get stuck into a whole manner of cool activities such as making a virtual self out of chocolate and chasing rolling crème eggs across the floor (before jumping on them to splat them!).

No one leaves Cadbury World without their own bag of chocolate goodies, but if you want to add to your stash the chocolate shop is the world’s biggest and best. Know someone who’d like a life size chocolate football? Easy. Perhaps you know a little person who’d love a chocolate teddy bear? No problem. The Cadbury World shop offers an amazing range of chocolate gifts that you won’t find down the local supermarket.

If you miss out on the chocolate week fun then why not pay Cadbury World a visit over the Halloween week? In the run up to the big night Cadbury World will be overrun with mischievous ghouls, ghosts and circus performers, and they’ll be a fancy dress competition for the kids (giant Diary Milk costume, anyone?).

Alternatively, enjoy the selection box of treats that Cadbury World has in store for Christmas, including a giant, chocolate Christmas tree and a fabulously fat Santa.

Whatever time of year you choose to visit, if you love chocolate then you’re sure to love Cadbury World. Stuffed chock full of the best chocolate in the world, it’s the perfect day out for those with a love of the brown stuff. So visit and be greedy for the day because after all, a little lot of what you fancy does you good.
