Simple Homemade Truffles

You won’t believe how simple these gorgeous truffles are to make! If you can resist eating them all at once they also make great gifts.

Truffles

Here’s what you will need…

Ingredients:

  • 375g Chopped Chocolate (I used Half Dark and Half Milk Chocolate)
  • 250ml Double Cream
  • Flavourings of your choice (I used Orange Extract, Baileys and Rum)
  • Decorations of your choice (I used vermicelli, cocoa powder and white sugar)

Method:

Simply pour the double cream into a saucepan and heat until simmering. Then remove from heat and add the chocolate – stirring continuously until it reaches the consistency in the picture above.

Then transfer your mixture to plastic containers – I split mine into two for this batch. Add your flavourings as desired, but for reference I used two capfuls of flavouring for half the mixture.

Then transfer to the fridge to set for about 3 hours (until it is hard to touch).

Almost done, now is the fun part! To make the truffles, take a teaspoon of mixture and roll into a ball – it will be very sticky so cover your hands in cocoa powder!

Finally, roll the balls into your choice of decoration – I thought Vermicelli, Caster Sugar and Cocoa Powder looked great when displayed together!

I hope you enjoy making and eating these as much as I do!

hello, just made these and they really are yummy. Maybe a bit too soft for my partner, how can I make them harder? Shall I put less cream/more chocolate?
    Thanks!
