Mainting Your Lip Foliage
November saw a phenomenal amount of men in the UK and in fact across the world donning moustaches to raise money for research into a cure for prostate and testicular cancer. I’ve seen every type of ‘tache’ this November – I’ve seen the handlebar, the country gent, the Mexican, Magnum PI to name but a few.

Movember started in Melbourne Australia in 2004 and has now grown to include many countries across the world encouraging men and women to raise money and awareness of testicular and prostrate cancer by growing a moustache in the month of November! So in honour of these wonderful fundraising efforts I would like to dedicate this blog to facial hair grooming.
You could be mistaken for thinking that growing a moustache is easy peasy…just don’t shave! But I have it from several men that it’s not that simple. Firstly it gets quite itchy having all this hair where you’ve never had it before, it tickles your lips and gets all sorts of things caught in it – coffee, your breakfast, toothpaste…it’s not a good look. So here are a few simple rules for growing a moustache
- Decide on the style you are aiming for – do you want to have a Handlebar? A Pencil? Horseshoe? Once you know the look you are aiming for you can plan your hair growth accordingly!
- You then need to spend a couple of weeks getting some decent beard growth happening to lay down the ‘base’ for the perfect ‘tache’. Once you have a decent amount of growth start to trim your moustache into your chosen style – don’t be afraid of your beard trimmers, this is their chance to come into their own! Make sure you keep that little baby defined but in saying that remember the more hair the better. If your are worried about getting it wrong visit your local barber and ask them to help you style it up and ask them for any hot tips on keeping your moustache looking great.
- Last of all own it! Now that you are working some serious facial hair be confident about your look and wear it with pride, most men will envy your commitment to your mo and while not many women are too keen on facial hair they will definitely love the fact that you have done it for a good cause (although now that November has passed that may not work!) and if you wear it with confidence they will most definitely be drawn in by your animalistic charisma!
If you haven’t yet donated to this fantastic cause there’s still time just visit the Movember site here
Not one to ignore us girlies; we look at facial and bodily hair in quite a different way…a situation were less is definitely more! Groupon always has some great deals on laser hair removal, like this one at The New York Laser Clinic for up to 88% off six hair removal sessions.
