Don’t Put It Off…Put it Out!
Every year about this time, people begin thinking about the New Year and the changes it will bring. Many of us will make resolutions to change something in our lives and millions across the world will be making the resolution to quit smoking once and for all. Putting it simply; for most of us smoking is an internal battle between wanting and struggling to quit, and wanting to smoke. We know smoking is bad for us, but ultimately we make the necessary excuses to continue our harmful habit.
If you have tried to quit smoking before you will know just how hard it can be – but it can be done. You’ve probably tried the patches, gone through endless amount of nicotine gum; I’ve even read books – specifically Allen Carr’s ‘Easy Way to Stop Smoking’. This book seems to do the rounds amongst smokers and it’s a good read with good tips, but I don’t know anyone who’s quit reading it.
Towards the end of last year however, I saw a promotional stall demonstrating a revolutionary way to stop smoking. My curiosity peaked and they introduced me to the E-Cigarette. The e-cigarette is a battery powered device which mimics the act of smoking by producing an inhalable mist which looks, taste and feels like the real thing; as well as providing you with the nicotine hit that you crave. The best part is that it’s odourless, and omits the health risks attached with smoking.
I was extremely sceptical at first but he opened up a fresh e-cigarette for me to try and I was amazed at how well it mimicked a real cigarette. When you inhale the tip glows a bright green and I did originally wonder why it did something so ludicrous; but then I realised it’s designed to indicate your smoking an E-Lite, and not a real cigarette. It’ll save you getting thrown out of the bar or club anyway.
In the time I have been using E-Lites I’ve only smoked 2-4 real cigarettes, and that was only because I left my E-80 at home and got them from friends. It’s definitely the most authentic alternative to the real thing, without any of tar, tobacco, or carbon monoxide. I definately am an advocate, as are my dad and two cousins, whom I’ve introduced E-Lite’s too. It really is the easiest way stop smoking without having to fight with your addiction and it’s a great way to make a significant change to your health and life this year.
