The treasure that is the Causeway Coast

Long before it became one of Northern Ireland’s most popular tourist spots, legend has it that the spectacular Causeway Coast was the haunt of a giant named Finn McCool. The story goes, or so my Da’ told me, that Finn built a causeway across the Irish Sea to fight a Scottish rival. During the contest Finn ripped a handful of turf from mid-Ulster to hurl at his opponent. The lump of land summarily knocked the Scottish giant out cold, leaving Finn the undisputed victor. And what happened to the Ulsterman’s weapon? Well, it landed in the sea and later became known as the Isle of Man…
